We Build WASH
Billions of people, especially in rural areas, still lack access to safe drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). We partner with communities to build the essential WASH infrastructure that protects health, strengthens livelihoods, and transforms futures.
Why WASH?
Safe water, sanitation, and hygiene are not luxuries - they are the foundation of health, dignity, and opportunity. Without them, communities face cycles of disease, lost time, and poverty.
The Impact of WASH
Health
Every year, 1.4 million deaths could be prevented with safe WASH [6]. Waterborne illnesses like cholera, typhoid, and diarrhea claim lives and strain families with costly medical bills. For every $1 invested in sanitation, the return on investment is $5.50 in lower health costs, more productivity, and fewer premature deaths [7].
Environment
Sustainable WASH systems protect ecosystems by preventing human waste from contaminating soil and waterways, while improved water management safeguards limited freshwater sources. WASH systems also promote climate resilience - conserving water, preventing pollution, and helping communities adapt to droughts and floods.
Economy
Every $1 invested in joint water supply and sanitation provides over $4 of economic return [5]. Clean water and sanitation aren’t just lifesaving - they’re life-changing.
Equality
In many communities, women and girls bear the burden of water collection. Reliable WASH infrastructure gives them time to start businesses, improve their homes, and take charge of their futures [1-4].
Education
Children, especially girls, miss school because of hours spent fetching water or the lack of safe toilets. With WASH, they can stay in class and pursue their dreams [1-4].

We work with communities in need to build access to clean WASH facilities. Inspired by the stark reality of billions living without these basic necessities, our programs improve health, education, and overall quality of life. By addressing the interconnected issues of water scarcity, poor sanitation, and inadequate hygiene practices, these programs strive to create a sustainable future for vulnerable populations.
Sponsor a WASH Project
When you sponsor a WASH project, you invest in more than essential infrastructure - you help bring communities health, dignity, and opportunity for generations to come.
Our Solutions
We tailor each project to the unique needs of the community, drawing on proven technologies that are affordable, maintainable, and built to last.
Drilled Wells
tap underground water sources to provide safe, reliable drinking water.
Gravity Fed Systems
deliver water efficiently without electricity by using the natural force of gravity.
Piped Systems
bring clean water directly into homes, schools, and clinics.
Chlorination Systems
purify drinking water to eliminate harmful pathogens.
Water Filters
remove contaminants for clean and safe drinking water.
Spring Protections
safeguard natural water sources against contamination.
Household Latrines
provide families with safe, private sanitation that improves health and dignity.
Public Restrooms
ensure equitable access to sanitation facilities in shared spaces.
Irrigation Systems
support livelihoods by delivering water to crops, boosting yields and resilience.
Pumps
overcome elevation and distance to transport water where it is needed most.
We Build Connections
Clean water, sanitation, and hygiene don’t just protect health - they connect families to opportunity, children to classrooms, and women to better futures. At EIA, every WASH project is about more than infrastructure. It’s about building connections that last.
Take Action
Bring Water. Build Health. Transform Lives.
Safe water, sanitation, and hygiene are the foundation of thriving communities. By joining EIA’s WASH Program, you help families break free from preventable disease, empower women and girls to pursue education and enterprise, and strengthen local resilience to climate challenges.
