Steven Mezzacappa

Bridge program development director

Steven Mezzacappa is the EIA Bridge Program's Development Director. In this role, Steve specializes in leading the Bridge Program's Industry Program, Alumni Program, and all programs pertaining to fundraising, including grant applications, donor relationship management, crowdfunding campaigns, special events, and more.

Steve graduated from Penn State with a degree in Architectural Engineering and played an integral part in the start-up of Penn State's university bridge building chapter. While a student, Steve served on two bridge builds in Panama and served as the chapter's President during the 2014-2015 academic year. In 2016, Steve was nationally recognized by DiscoverE as the New Face of Civil Engineering.

Upon graduation, Steve started his career with Turner Construction Company following four consecutive summer internships with Turner. Steve most recently worked out of Turner's Pittsburgh Business Unit as their Business Development Engineer. In this role, he worked alongside business unit senior leadership in establishing, generating and procuring project pipeline & backlog. Throughout Steven's cumulative 8+ years with Turner, he worked on large commercial, healthcare, and pharmaceutical projects totaling up to $1 Billion in revenue across several offices, including Turner International in Mexico City. Outside of Turner, Steve has served as an EIA Bridge Corps Mentor since 2018 and has most recently published his first book entitled, "Passion With Purpose."

Steve enjoys bringing his passion and experience to EIA to help generate increased opportunities for fundraising and advancement for the Bridge Program. In the future, Steve looks forward to applying what he is learning with the Bridge Program to support EIA’s other programs as well.

When Steve isn't working on EIA, you can typically find him spending time with family, growing his faith, or studying and writing about leadership and emotional intelligence.
